Submissions are now open for the Angry Film Festival. The only criterion is that films must be under 15 minutes, and not have been entered in previous Angry Festivals.

Over The Fence Short Film Fest is open for entries. The festival features a wide variety of filmmaking – animation, claymation, mockumentary and live action - and comedic genres – slapstick, irreverence, absurdity and drama to name a few.

The Other Film Festival is now accepting entries for the 2010 festival. Presented by Arts Access Victoria, the festival is Australia's only international disability film festival. It is concerned with contemporary cinema on the lived experience of people with a disability and people who are deaf. The festival itself will be from 23 August 2010–29 August 2010 at the Melbourne Museum.

The ScreenWest 2009–10 Business Development Fund can provide support of up to $80,000 over two years to production companies and affiliated independent screen industry businesses that have identified, within a business plan, opportunities to develop and expand their business. This new initiative has a two-stage application process, with a free one day workshop on February 3, 2010 to assist applicants.

'Splash' is the keyword for the 2010 FFF short film competition. Fist Full of Films is the Northern Territory's homegrown short film festival and has been showcasing NT short films for almost 10 years. FFF screens Territory-made short films in all genres including drama, comedy, documentary, animation and digital media. The 2010 competition will screen the top 15 or so short film entries received. The short film competition awards have a variety of prizes and in-kind prizes.

Show-Fest calling for entries of documentary or narrative fiction for it's 2010 festival. The festival is recognised for its informative 'Show and Tell' where cast and crew are invited on stage to answer questions about their film. The cash prize is $1500 and Xytech is offering $1000 in kind. The festival hopes to secure more prizes in the coming months. The festival will be held on 16 August 2010.

Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (AIMIA) has launched an initiative across Australia called Innovatives. Entries are accepted throughout the year. The program is managed by a committee from AIMIA, ABC's Innovation division, Deloitte, Intel and GT Law to promote innovation in the Australian digital media industry. The aim of the program is to provide the innovator with the support they need to progress their idea from early concept stages to commercial launch.
